
We’re excited to announce that additional spaces have become available for our upcoming Empower: Girls into Cyber event at Cardiff Metropolitan University School of Technologies, Llandaff, on Friday 27th June 2025.
This inspiring day is designed for Year 10 girls to explore the world of cybersecurity through hands-on activities, interactive workshops, and real-life stories from women working in the tech and cyber industry.
Originally exclusive to CyberFirst Schools as part of the CyberFirst Wales Engagement Framework, we’re now opening up the opportunity to all secondary schools in South East Wales who want to empower young women to explore the exciting world of digital careers.
What to expect
Students will take part in a variety of activities designed to build confidence, develop skills, and open their eyes to the wide range of opportunities available in cybersecurity and technology.
They’ll meet and learn from professionals representing some of the most influential tech employers in Wales and the UK, including:
- Swansea University
- Thales
- PwC
- Itsus Consulting
- Admiral
- Wales & West Utilities
- The Intellectual Property Office (IPO)
- The Office for National Statistics (ONS)
- Sudo Cyber
- Fortinet
- Cardiff Metropolitan University
These organisations are all passionate about inspiring the next generation of cyber talent and giving young people from all backgrounds a chance to see themselves in this fast-growing field.
