About CyberFirst Wales
What is CyberFirst?
Created by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), CyberFirst aims to identify and nurture the UK’s next generation of cyber talent.
The programme offers a wide range of free opportunities to learners and educators in support of this – from online resources and competitions, to a prestigious Schools & Colleges Award, and a university bursary scheme offering financial support and paid cyber training.

Delivered Across Wales
In Wales, CyberFirst is delivered by the University of South Wales, in partnership with Swansea University and Coleg Cambria. The programme in Wales also received strategic backing from Technocamps, the National Digital Exploitation Centre (NDEC) and the Welsh Government.
We support learners from Year 7 to Year 13, working closely with schools and colleges across the country.
Cyber Resilience
CyberFirst also supports awarded schools and colleges to improve their cyber resilience – offering guidance on infrastructure, policy, and good cyber hygiene.
How It’s Funded
CyberFirst is funded by the UK Government Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) via the NCSC.
We also welcome additional sponsorship — whether at event or project level.
