About CyberFirst Wales
What is CyberFirst?
Created by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), CyberFirst aims to identify and nurture the UK’s next generation of cyber talent.
The programme offers a wide range of free opportunities to learners and educators in support of this – from online resources and competitions, to a prestigious Schools & Colleges Award.
In-line with the rest of the UK, CyberFirst in Wales will soon be expanding into the UK Government funded TechFirst project. You can read more about what that will look like here.
Delivered Across Wales
In Wales, CyberFirst is delivered by the University of South Wales, in partnership with Swansea University and Coleg Cambria.
We support learners from Year 7 to Year 13, working closely with schools and colleges across the country.
Digital Skills
CyberFirst also supports awarded schools and colleges to improve their digital skills – offering guidance on infrastructure, policy, and cyber hygiene, as well as supporting safe AI use.
How It’s Funded
CyberFirst is funded by the UK Government Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) via the NCSC.
We also welcome additional sponsorship — whether at event or project level.
