Following the exciting announcement that Coleg Cambria has joined as the new delivery partner for CyberFirst in North Wales, we’re delighted to invite schools to the region’s first Empower: Girls into Cyber event.
This inspiring day is aimed at Year 10 girls studying, or interested in, Computer Science and Digital Technology, and is all about empowering young women to explore the world of cybersecurity and consider future pathways in tech.
With CyberFirst Wales schools seeing 24% of girls in A-level Computer Science classes (compared to the 13% national average), the event is part of a proven programme to spark aspiration and improve gender diversity in computing.
Discover cyber & a future full of possibilities
Students will take part in a range of engaging, hands-on activities, including:
- ⚖️ An interactive cyber law debate
- 🕵️ A team-based capture the flag challenge provided by Sudo Cyber (like the CF Girls Competition)
- 🧠 A code-breaking & linguistics workshop
- 🎤 Talks from women working in tech
- 🤝 Role models from companies like Airbus, Vodafone, Swansea University – and more!
